We’re pleased to announce our new hyperconverged solutions QxStack WS2016 MSW2000 and MSW6000 have passed the stringent requirements of the Windows Server Software-Defined (WSSD) Program. (You can read the full length official press release here.)
QCT was among an exclusive group of hardware providers chosen by Microsoft to participate in this rigorous invitation-only program, wherein hyperconverged solution providers design and validate hardware integrated with Windows Server 2016 Software-Defined infrastructure, following Microsoft requirements and best practices. It is offered by Microsoft as the quickest, lowest-risk, most cost-effective way to deploy a Windows Server 2016 Software-Defined Data Center.
In the WSSD program, solution providers go through four phases of requirement assessment — design, validation, deployment and operations. Design configurations are reviewed and approved by Microsoft. In the validation phase, Microsoft Software-Defined Datacenter Additional Qualification (SDDC AQ) applies a Private Cloud Simulator Test for all potential scenarios associated with Storage Clusters and VMs a datacenter could encounter over the course of a year. To ensure ultimate quality and reliability, a test item can be stress tested up to 1,000 times!
With this validation, the MSW2000 and MSW6000 spearhead our lineup of QxStack WS2016 Cloud Ready Solutions. These pre-installed, pre-configured and optimized modular solutions are easy to use, cloud ready and scalable from four nodes to 16 nodes in the same cluster to handle a variety of enterprise virtualization workloads.
MSW2000 contains over 400 TB in 1U 4 nodes with SSDs as caching, and to continue provide over 1 Million IOPS, best suited for a wide variety of enterprise workloads that require large capacities. MSW6000 features an all-flash software-defined storage configuration that provides over 1.3 million IOPS and 1.8G/sec of throughput in a 2U form, great for workloads that require consistent, high performance. (See the full specs on these platforms here.) This adds two new solid, now performance-benchmarked additions to QCT’s diverse array of solutions to speed customers to the cloud.
